Our commitment to child safety is an integral part of every aspect of the School. Therefore, every member of the School community has a responsibility to understand the important specific role they play individually and collectively to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students is at the forefront of all that they do and every decision that they make.
All staff at Kilvington Grammar School are required to complete the School’s Child Safety and Wellbeing training program on an annual basis. The staff onboarding platform contains copies of the School’s Child Safety and Wellbeing Policies which all staff are required to read, accept and comply with.
Employment at the School is subject to the following compliance requirements:
- Applicants for teaching positions must hold registration (or permission to teach) with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
- General staff (non-teaching staff, including music tutors) must hold, or be prepared to undergo, a Working with Children Check and a National Police Check.

School Chaplain
Full or Part-Time (FTE to be negotiated) | Ongoing Contract
Commencing Term 1, 2027
What We Are Seeking
We are seeking a compassionate and engaging School Chaplain to join our community in an ongoing role.
The Chaplain plays an important role in supporting the spiritual and pastoral life of the School, working closely with students, staff and families. This includes providing pastoral care, contributing to wellbeing initiatives, and leading opportunities for reflection, connection and exploration of faith within a respectful and inclusive environment.
The role will work collaboratively with the Wellbeing team and broader School community to foster a supportive, values-driven culture informed by the School’s Christian ethos.
The Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pastoral care and support to students across the School
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students, staff and families
- Contribute to student wellbeing programs and initiatives
- Lead or support services, reflections and faith-based or values-based activities
- Be available as a listening presence for students and staff
- Support the School community in times of need, including critical incidents
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the Wellbeing team
- Contribute to a culture of care, inclusion and respect across the School

About You
The successful applicant will:
- Have experience in chaplaincy, pastoral care or a related field
- Demonstrate a genuine care for young people and their wellbeing
- Be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Bring empathy, integrity and sound judgement to their work
- Have the ability to work collaboratively within a school environment
- Be supportive of the School’s Christian ethos, with an understanding of the Baptist tradition, while engaging respectfully with people of all faiths and backgrounds
- Hold (or be working towards) relevant qualifications in theology, ministry, counselling or a related discipline (desirable)
- Be VIT registered, or have the ability to teach, desirable but not essential
- Hold (or be eligible for) a valid Working With Children Check (Employee)

Senior English Teacher (Years 10-11)
Full-time | Fixed-Term | Commencing Term 3, 2026
What We Are Seeking
We are seeking an outstanding Senior English Teacher to join our dynamic English Faculty from Term 3, 2026. This is a full-time, fixed-term position until the end of the year.
The Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality English curriculum across senior years (Years 10–11), including VCE Units 1–2, aligned with VCAA requirements and school programs
- Design and implement engaging learning experiences that develop students’ reading, writing, analytical and critical thinking skills, supporting strong academic outcomes
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress, including internal and external (VCE) assessment requirements, ensuring accurate and timely feedback
- Differentiate teaching to meet diverse learning needs, including extension and targeted support to maximise student performance
- Support student wellbeing and pastoral care, building positive relationships and contributing to a safe, inclusive classroom environment. (Aligned with whole-school child safety and wellbeing expectations)
- Collaborate with colleagues within the English faculty and wider Senior School to ensure consistency of practice and shared approaches to teaching and assessment.
- Maintain accurate records and communication with students, parents and staff regarding academic progress and expectations
- Participate in co-curricular and broader school activities, contributing to the life of the school community
- Engage in ongoing professional learning to stay current with curriculum changes, pedagogy and assessment practices
