PE and Health
Physical activity at Kilvington not only enhances fitness and builds strong bones and muscles but also improves mental health, boosting happiness, self-confidence, and academic performance. It fosters social skills such as teamwork and communication, while promoting better sleep and a stronger immune system. With a focus on overall wellbeing, Kilvington ensures students are well-prepared for success in all areas of life.
Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.

Junior School
The Junior School Physical Education curriculum fosters a love for movement and fitness while developing key motor skills. Starting with foundational activities like running games and ball skills in Prep, students progress to more advanced units such as athletics, gymnastics, and sport-specific skills like basketball, soccer, and volleyball. By Year 6, students engage in dynamic activities like Circus Skills and Court Sports, promoting teamwork, confidence, and athletic proficiency. This gradual progression ensures all students build a strong foundation for lifelong physical activity.
Kilvington Grammar’s Health curriculum equips students with essential knowledge for their physical and emotional wellbeing. From Year 5, topics such as water safety, nutrition, and mental health help students develop healthy habits. Year 6 introduces discussions on relationships, puberty, and sexuality, providing valuable life skills during this transitional phase. This program ensures students are informed, confident, and prepared before leading into their teenage years.
Senior School
Kilvington Senior School curriculum equips students with diverse skills and experiences through units like Athletics, Racquet Sports, and Netball. These activities enhance coordination, fitness, and teamwork, while expressive units like Dance and Movement foster creativity and confidence. Fitness-focused activities such as Body Weight Exercises build strength and endurance, laying a foundation for healthy lifelong physical activity.
Our Health curriculum equips adolescents with vital knowledge to support their wellbeing. From body positivity and mental health in Year 7 to respectful relationships and safe partying in Year 10, each unit aims to foster informed decision-making. Lessons on fitness, first aid, and emotional health build resilience, while topics like nutrition and sexual health promote physical and social confidence, further preparing students for a balanced, healthy future beyond school.
In addition to Kilvington's dedicated PE and Health programs, we also offer students a wide variety of sporting opportunities and a Running Club.
