Building a Sport Centre is in direct response to Kilvington’s steadfast commitment to the physical wellbeing of our students. A healthy body translates into a healthy mind therefore providing a myriad of benefits to our young people. Students develop character including confidence; teamwork, communication and leadership skills; and sportsmanship.
In the last few years, we have seen the successful and rapid expansion of the Kilvington sport program. In 2016 we won nine premierships and in 2017 we introduced an after-school Sport Training Program. We continue to recruit the best mentors and coaches for our students.
The new Sport Centre will support all of the above and more.
The Kilvington Sport Centre will provide an outstanding facility for our students, staff and community to practise and enjoy physical activity to assist in improved performance and overall wellbeing. The Centre will include important spaces to maximise the Sport, PE and Health programs at Kilvington. These include:
- Indoor netball/basketball court
- Fitness / weights room
- Multipurpose space
- 2 x general purpose classrooms
- Change facilities and amenities for male and female students
The Sport Centre commenced construction in December 2017 and the estimated time of completion is early 2019.
